Should you involve friends in the wedding planning decisions?
There are a lot of decisions which need to be made for your wedding. Some decisions are small like the kinds of place cards which will be at the reception dinner. Others are huge like the venue you are planning on booking to get married at. It is only natural that you will want to get advice. One of the biggest sources people will turn to for advice on their weddings is their friends. Most times they will not listen to a word their friends tell them about what they should do. They just like to have a sounding board for the different things they are considering. In other cases, the friends opinions can sway them away from something they were really hoping for and regret later on when it is too late. This makes you wonder if you should allow friends to get involved in wedding decisions at all.
Where friends can help
There are definitely times when it is good to have your friends along to help you make decisions. When it is the bride choosing a wedding dress, she cannot bring along her fiancé. It is a good idea to take along friends who will honestly tell you how you look in a certain dress. This way you will be able to pick out the dress which will look best on you. Guys should also get their friends to weigh in what kind of tuxedos will be best for the wedding.
Where friends can hurt
Big decisions like the venue and the caterer are something the friends have no business helping with. It is okay to get the family involved if you need to, but these are decisions which really should be made strictly by the bride and groom to be. This is so that they will be able to have the exact wedding that they want to have without any regrets. They will know that these kinds of decisions were made together for better or worse. It is a great start to a beautiful wedding which they can share with their friends.
